Michael Richard Plowman
Composer Michael Richard Plowman has signed with Different Direction Management for representation.
Educated in England, Canada, and the United States he started his musical journey in theatre, dance and concert music. While orchestrating and conducting for some of the most prestigious symphony orchestras in North America, he made time to lecture internationally which then naturally gravitated him towards a career film scoring.
In his long career, that consists of over 360+ credits with more on the way, he has scored a stunning 150 features and over 1500 episodes of Television. Michael has built a career on being able to deliver high quality music on time and on budget. He’s also a delight to work with, which is why his collaborators work with him over and over again.
Most recently Michael was honored to work on Hulu’s Operation Mistletoe and the Disney+ series Hitler’s Last Stand. A small sampling the many notable projects he's been a part of include; DreamWorks Animation George of the Jungle, Hulu / Cartoon Network’s Sonic Boom, StudioCanal's Force of Execution starring Steven Segal & Ving Rhames, Hallmark's Crimes of Fashion: Killer Clutch starring Brooke D'Orsay (Two and a Half Men), Lionsgate’s Christmas in Paradise starring Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer, Strictly Confidential for Lionsgate starring Elizabeth Hurley, and Ubisoft’s iconic and best selling video game Splinter Cell.
Michael is equally happy scoring live-action as he is animation. He’s been awarded two prestigious Canadian Screen Awards, 10 Leo Awards, one Cleo Award, Emmy Honours, and was nominated twice for a "Best European Composer" Award.
When he’s not in the studio creating movie music magic, you may find him relaxing and enjoying Italian cinema, reading, swimming in the ocean, which his studio overlooks, tai chi or listening to Brahms, Chet Baker, Vangelis or a classic film score by one of the masters!
