Edwin Wendler was born in Vienna, Austria, to a Japanese mom and an Austrian dad. He toured the world as a member of the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir and graduated summa cum laude from one of the most prestigious high schools in Vienna, but he always felt like an outsider due to his different looks, different sexual orientation, and different interests. Edwin developed a deep love for movies and soundtracks, and after a couple of false starts in other fields, he decided to follow his heart by starting a career in music.

Edwin’s feature film credits include the upcoming nature-themed feature, DreamScapes (narrated by Academy Award winner Kate Winslet; the score features a 100+ member ensemble which includes the Synchron Stage Orchestra & Choir, as well as the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir and Vienna Girls Choir), the horror comedy Glowzies (starring James Remar and Michael Dorn), the action thriller Mafia Wars (starring Tom Welling and Cam Gigandet), the acclaimed esports documentary Against The Odds (Red Bull Media House), the horror comedy Dead Ant (starring Tom Arnold and Sean Astin), and I Spit On Your Grave III: Vengeance Is Mine (Anchor Bay). His score for the documentary The Right To Love - An American Family was nominated for a GoldSpirit Award. Edwin won “Best Score” awards at the Los Angeles International Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, Vegas Movie Awards, and Florence Film Awards.

Later this year, Edwin is scheduled to write music for a sitcom starring Tom Arnold.

In recent years, Edwin Wendler has also been scoring video games, primarily for the world’s largest video game company, Tencent, resulting in the prestigious commission to be the lead composer of their first, internationally-released console game, Synced.

Other video game credits include Torchlight: Infinite, Game For Peace (a.k.a. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), Mafia City, BuildTopia, Iris.Fall, Bladed Fury, Ring Of Elysium, as well as additional music for Honor Of Kings, for which Edwin received a G.A.N.G. Award as well as a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination.

When writing additional music for other composers, Paul Haslinger came to rely on Edwin as the “orchestra guy,” and John Ottman came to rely on Edwin as the “synth guy.” Edwin Wendler co-scored the box office hit, Non-Stop (Universal/StudioCanal), starring Liam Neeson. He provided arrangements and additional music for The Nice Guys (starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling; Warner Bros.), X-Men: Days Of Future Past (20th Century Fox), Little Fockers (Universal/Paramount), Into The Blue (MGM/Sony), and several other studio films. In television, Edwin arranged and wrote music for the Emmy-nominated Showtime series Sleeper Cell: American Terror and co-scored two seasons of NBC’s popular reality show, Fear Factor.

Clients keep coming back to Edwin because of his uncompromising dedication to each project. “I treat each gig like it could be my final one,” he says. When he is not writing music, Edwin is happiest spending time with his husband Peter and listening to music.
