Composer Andrew Scott Bell has signed with Different Direction Management for representation.
Andrew Scott Bell is an acclaimed composer known for his versatile and innovative contributions to the film and television industry. Bell found himself taking dance ballet and piano lessons in Horseheads, New York, where he grew up. Through piano, Andrew began writing his own pieces of music. Eventually he landed at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where he studied classical orchestration, music theory, and composition.
With a keen ability to blend traditional orchestral arrangements with modern electronic elements, Bell has crafted memorable scores that enhance the emotional and narrative depth of numerous projects. He is celebrated for his unique soundscapes and his ability to adapt his compositions to a wide array of genres, ranging from horror, thriller, family, comedy drama and documentaries. Since 2009, Bell has had the honor of scoring nearly 100 film & TV projects in every genre imaginable including the short film Rocket, which earned a Student Academy Award.
Andrew had the distinct honor of scoring and collaborating with Emmy winner Ava DuVernay on her critically acclaimed NBC series, Home Sweet Home. Bell just signed on to score the highly anticipated horror film The Death of Snow White. Other recent highlights include the heartwarming family adventure Powder Pup from Lionsgate, the Lifetime film Psycho Storm Chaser, Deathcember starring legendary actress Barbara Crampton from Shout Factory!, the Tubi Original Sinister Surgeon, and the massive hit Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey films. Variety interviewed Andrew and did a fascinating piece on the making of the Pooh score, which included a beehiveolin; a combination of a beehive and a violin, which added a truly unique sound to Pooh. For the sequel Andrew dived deep into his creative mind and crafted a skullo, a combination of a cello and a bear skull. Andrew was commissioned to write an opera based on Nobel Peace Prize winning author Elie Wiesel’s play, The Trial of God.
Andrew’s compositional style has been described as a mixture of Bernard Herrmann and Hans Zimmer: a dynamic fusion of neo-romantic harmonies and the power of modern film score techniques. Bell's dedication to his craft has earned him recognition and accolades in the film music community. Bell continues to push the boundaries of film scoring, always seeking new ways to innovate and captivate audiences with his music.
